Difference between DC motor and AC motor

DC motor is a kind of rotating motor which can convert DC power into mechanical energy or mechanical energy into DC power. It is a kind of motor which can convert DC power and mechanical energy.

1. DC motor refers to the motor using DC power (such as dry battery, battery, etc.); AC motor refers to the motor using AC power (such as household appliances, alternator, etc.).

2. Application: first of all, the two structures are different, with commutator (two half copper rings) and AC motor without commutator. The former is usually used for low-voltage circuit, and DC motor is used for electric bicycle, such as computer fan, recorder, etc., which is convenient for carrying DC power supply.

3. Identification method: no matter whether there is a commutator or not, the power supply is used. The DC power supply with a commutator is a DC motor, and the AC motor is the principle of the coil in the magnetic field. The former is to use the commutator to automatically change the current direction of the coil to force the coil in the direction of continuous rotation. The AC motor is composed of stator and rotor, the stator is electromagnet, the rotor is coil, the stator and rotor use the same power supply, so the current direction of the stator and rotor is always synchronous, that is, the current direction of the coil changes, and the current direction of the electromagnet also changes. According to the left-hand rule, the coil will continue to be affected by the magnetic force, and the coil can continue in this direction,

DC motor has good start-up characteristics and speed regulation characteristics. It is used to drive in the speed regulation performance of large-scale equipment such as rolling mill and DC motor. AC motor cannot do this. The former can be widely used.
